early

celtic

cord

This cord is made from the natural colours that sheep wool comes in - a blend going from black through white with just a touch of brown peeking through some of the jacob greys.

It is my interpretation of what an early Celtic 'crios' would have looked like, before the advent of the dying of wool and cloth to achieve a greater range of colours. These colours would have been readily available without the need to dye.

The cord is 6 1/2 foot long and 1.5 inches wide. (2m x 4cm approx.)

It is made from Aran Yarn from Donegal and Kerry in Ireland.
