embracing union - traditional Irish handfasting cords
báinín
This crios is simplicity in form. It is predominated by the undyed sheep wool known as báinín in the Gaelic language, translating as 'little white.' On each outside flank, there is a blend of a very subtle aquamarine colour moving to an evergreen hue. This simple design allows the tabby weave of the crios to shine through.
This cord is made from Aran Yarn from Ireland’s two remaining woollen mills in Kerry and Donegal. It measures 78" long and 2" wide, perfect for tying around the wedding couples hands twice, with room for the knot on top.
