Tom and Dawn sent me these great photos of their Scottish-themed handfasting. Bride and groom are in matching tartan with some exquisite ornate metalwork details. They chose a green, white and gold Irish Crios as their handfasting cord and their handfasting officiant, Dara Molloy, used his 'gift-style' handfasting knot in which both hands of the bride and groom are tied as they face each other - rather like you would tie a present with a bow. The handfasting cord goes across the top, crosses underneath and comes back up again with a knot fastened on top.
